Sadie Hope turned 5 months old on Christmas Day!! Unfortunately, she (AND her mommy and daddy) had the FLU on Christmas!!! So, I waited until she felt better to do her 5 month picture.
What is Sadie up to these days?
- We only got her weight at the doctor this month - she weighs 14 lb 5 oz.
- She is in size 1 diapers.
- She is now in all 6 month clothes.
- Her eye's are looking more green than brown or blue these days.
- She is eating 4.5 ounces from a bottle or nurses 15-20 minutes, every 3-4 hours.
- Her sleeping routine continues to be great - she occasionally wakes up when Brad gets up (around 5:00) and nurses, but falls asleep during. Then, she sleeps til 8:30-9:30, catnaps throughout the day, takes a long nap in the afternoon (2-4 hours), and goes down for the night around 11:00. She hasn't woke up during the middle of the night for several months. I have no idea how we got so lucky for this, but she is a GREAT sleeper!
- She is getting better at sitting up, but still has to have support. She has rolled from her back to her side/belly several times, and has rolled back a few times - but, she doesn't seem very interested in being on her belly voluntarily, so she doesn't roll a ton. We do tummy time everyday, though, and she is tolerating it for longer periods of time, but still not a fan! She has also started purposefully reaching and holding on to objects, and has learned how to take her pacifier out of her mouth and put it back in.
- She is a very smiley, happy baby...she smiles a lot with her eyes which is just so sweet :). She loves to be talked to, and LOVES Ellie - she will laugh from her belly when Ellie gets close to her!
This past month has been busy with holidays and celebrations...
Sadie enjoyed her first Thanksgiving!
She got to celebrate not 1 but 2 major Auburn victories - the unbelievable win over Alabama, and then winning the SEC championship! Sadie says, "WAR EAGLE!"
Sadie started off the Christmas season by playing baby Jesus in Mary's Monologue we did at church for our children. When the children came in, several of them gasped, "it's a real baby!" She did such a good job in her first performance!
We also rang in the season at church with Christmas on Ivory - Christmas music played on 3 grand pianos with 6 pianists...it was incredible!
And, even though our family gatherings all had to be rescheduled because of the flu bug that our house was infested with, we had a sweet Christmas morning at home with our little family of 3...and, Ellie too!
Each month that passes is so very bittersweet - it's hard to believe that another 4 weeks has came and gone, but with Sadie changing and her little personality developing, it's so fun to see what's ahead. I'm trying to soak in every single minute!Happy 5 months, sweet girl!!!
