Kimberly + David

Back a few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of doing the floral designs for an extra special wedding....the bride was one of my girls that I had in small group Bible study when she was in high school.  (For the record, this makes 3 girls' weddings that I have done that I also was their Bible study leader 'way back when' - I'm feeling super-ly OLD!!!)

Kimberly is SUPER funny and such a sweet girl - it was such a fun wedding to be a part of!!  Her bridesmaids' dresses were a pale turquoise, and we did all the flowers in white and hot pink - the colors popped against each other, and were beautiful for a spring wedding!   

Kimberly's bouquet was shades of hot pink and lime green - roses, ranunculas, hydrangeas, and berries.

The bridesmaids' bouquets were the same flowers, just all in ivory.  I loved Kimberly's being the only bouquet with color - the bright colors just popped against her dress!

And, I didn't do a thing on this table, but I always love a groom's table with character - David's favorite treats are oatmeal cream pies and peanuts, so that's what they had on his table!  Such a cute set up and reflection of him!!

Congratulations Kimberly and David!!!  It was a beautiful day for you - thank you for letting me be a part of your day!!

80 Years Young

A couple of weeks ago, I did some floral designs for a very special lady's 80th SURPRISE birthday party.  Mrs. Dot Brasher is known and loved by most people in our community - she was a teacher for many, many years and who most say was the best teacher they ever had.  I was honored to be a part of this very special day to celebrate this milestone birthday!! 

The surprise party was a Garden Party, and I chose flowers that had an heirloom look to them - I wanted them to look like flowers my grandmother used to grow along the edge of her vegetable garden.  I used zinnias in vibrant shades of pinks, orange, and yellow as well as hydrangeas and snapdragons...

And, I did fresh cut in water so they looked like they came straight out of the garden. 

I used watering cans and old Ball jars for containers.

 

Her family had worked so hard to make it a special day, and it turned out to be a perfect garden party for a perfectly SURPRISED honoree!!

A Beautiful Summer Wedding

This weekend, I had the pleasure of doing the floral designs for a sweet bride in Guntersville.  The color scheme - pink, lime, and cream.  She LOVES flowers, and adores "Old South" heirloom kinds of flowers - peonies and hydrangeas were the 2 stars of the show!  And, as any good Southern lady should, she loves monograms - so we did moss covered "W"s on the front door for her new last name.

I used lots and lots and lots (did I say lots??) of green moss on the containers to keep the focus more on the flowers than the containers themselves.  This little topiary arrangement was on the Bride's Book table in the foyer of the church.

More monogrammed sashes were used on the Mother's and Grandmother's reserved seats - my mom makes these (she's the best!!!)

The rest of the pews in the center aisle had a mix of hydrangeas arrangements in the cone shaped baskets.

These candelabras do not belong to me, but I absolutely love them!!  They are real rusty looking, and just look like an antique, but are really not.  My daddy and engineer-minded husband were discussing how we could have some made - I sure hope that works out! :)

The reception was at Dream Ranch which sits on top of the mountain overlooking the lake - isn't the view just beautiful??!!

I only added the flowers to the cake, but I had to show it to y'all - it's hard to see in the picture, but those shiny circles on the cake were broaches!!  It was absolutely gorgeous!

And, I could just shoot myself, but I got busy and did not get any pictures of the bouquets!!!!!  Since the amazing Bentley Gray was the photographer for the wedding, maybe I can get some pictures and share - Lindsey, maybe you can work on that ;)...



Flowers!

When the back of my vehicle is filled to the brim with fresh cut blooms it can only mean one thing - a wedding is this weekend!! And, when your using flowers in shades of pinks, lime, and white with names like 'Annabelle', 'Royal Blush', and 'Virginia' it's sure to truly be a Southern summer wedding!!

Watermelon Wedding

Well, hello! Sorry for my absence the past couple of weeks...life has been B.U.S.Y. in the world of Hayley and the blog has suffered because of it! But, I'm back and loading pictures like crazy!

A couple of weeks ago I did floral designs for a wedding for a sweet couple. The color scheme - pink, pink, and more pink. Front the lightest shade to deep vibrant hot pink...I covered the spectrum!

"My colors are blush and bashful...Your colors are PINK and PINK - that sanctuary's gonna look like it's been sprayed down with Pepto Bismol."....sorry, my weird mind thinks of everything in either a theme song or movie scene - I had a Steel Magnolia's flashback. :)

With a few pops of white, purple, and lime green it was a perfectly beautiful summer wedding!

The Bride's bouquet - the monogrammed linen handkerchief was her "something old" (it was her grandfather's) and "something blue" (her new initials in blue)...the handkerchief was a surprise that her mom asked me to tie on to the bouquet. I just love it!

The reception flowers were arranged in watermelons...that's right - straight into the watermelon! They turned out so pretty and unique, and just scream SUMMER!
